March 20th, 2006

Cheshire-based VWJ Earthmoving is tickled ‘pink’ after taking delivery of their sixth Volvo FM12 this week. The 8×4 B-ride tipper hosts a number of ‘pink’ features including a custom-painted pink stripe around the cab and pink spotlights fitted to the Kelsa Roof and Euro bar.

Volvo FM12 TipperOwned and operated by the only female earthmover in the Northwest, it was only a matter of time before Managing Director Victoria Webb-Johnson applied a women’s touch to one of her 32 tonne, 380 bhp machines. As she explained, "Each truck has a different coloured stripe on the cab…this time I wanted something different, so I chose pink !"

Since the company was established in 1999 VWJ Earthmoving have only purchased Volvo trucks. Victoria Webb-Johnson stated that, "Volvo’s have everything that I want in a truck. They are strong, reliable, and are tailored for our type of work."

She added that, "The trucks spend a lot of their time off-road, so they need to manoeuvre well on tough terrain and provide maximum comfort for my drivers… My Volvo’s achieve this with ease."

VWJ’s new vehicle, along with the rest of their fleet has been purchased from Mark Lingard of Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd, Middlewich. Victoria stated, "I am very happy with Thomas Hardie’s Sales Team they provide exceptional customer service and all their staff are helpful and friendly. The Trucks are also serviced and maintained from the Middlewich Depot.

Running an all Volvo fleet, the licensed waste carrier offers services including earthmoving and recycled aggregates. At present the new FM12 is working on a road construction project in Stoke-on-Trent.
