- Three Škoda models in top six
- Third consecutive year with Škodas in Top 5
Skoda’s strength in customer satisfaction continues apace, as the results of the Auto Express Driver Power Survey 2006 show. With three cars in the Top Six, Skoda has again impressed the Auto Express team with the results.
The new-generation Octavia entered the charts this year at Number Two, the highest new entry in the survey, with an overall rating of 90.78%. The Fabia supermini is in fifth place, an increase of two places from the 2005 survey. The first-generation Octavia remains strong in sixth place, increasing its overall rating to 87.62%.
Skoda UK Director, Chris Craft, is delighted, but not surprised. "We’re very pleased that our customers are so happy with their cars. These results confirm that, at Skoda, we have an excellent combination of high-quality cars, offered at great value through retailers who provide outstanding customer service. Our retailers are part of their local communities and we’re very proud of the work they do for Skoda customers."
More than 46,000 drivers took part in the Auto Express Driver Power Survey. The survey covered 10 key areas including build quality, reliability, performance, comfort and ride and handling.

Recently acquired a new Octavia Estate 2.0 FSI Elegance - drives just like a Golf, but seats a little odd (have a convex ridge down the back). Handbrake too close to driver’s seat. Lots of little storage cubbies, but with very flimsy lids - see how long they last. Metallic paint looks as though it was rather over-applied and a bit mottled. Cabin controls possibly copied from the 1958 soviet sputnik mission. All-in-all a good car - but a bit of design thought needed
