Peak Performance Wins Fourth Fleet News Award

CHESTERFIELD-based driver safety and risk management specialist, Peak Performance, has won the title of Best Risk Management Company at the Fleet News Awards for a record fourth time.

The award was presented to Peak Performance managing director, James Sutherland at the 2006 Awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London this week in front of an audience of 1,400 fleet industry executives.

Peak Performance has won the accolade of “Best Risk Management Company“ every time it has entered a submission for the award – an unprecedented four times in the last five years.

The Fleet News Awards are seen as the fleet industry’s equivalent of the ‘Oscars’ and this year’s awards were judged by a panel comprising professional fleet managers, industry experts and fleet journalists, chaired by Martyn Moore, editor of Fleet News.

The Fleet News judges said that Peak Performance had secured the Best Risk Management Company Award for a record fourth year because  “the company continues to innovate and extend its services across all types of risk management”.

“Peak Performance offers a complete suite of products and employs the groundbreaking online DriverMetrics Fleet Driver Risk Index, created by Cranfield University to assess behavioural risk online,“ the judges said.

Peak Performance managing director James Sutherland paid tribute to the hard work of his team after the latest win.

“In the last 12-18 months we have invested heavily in both personnel and technology to enable us to offer a comprehensive driver safety training and risk management portfolio to meet today’s corporate risk and fleet requirements.

“Now with the addition of the online DriverMetrics Fleet Driver Risk Index developed with Cranfield University, we have the most sophisticated psychometric based driver risk assessment available to help fleets evaluate which of their drivers are at the greatest risk on the road.

“This award is a reflection of the hard work, endeavour and commitment of an awful lot of very talented people and we are delighted to have won it for a record fourth time,” he said.

Avis Provides Fleet Solutions For Inchcape

Press Release

Avis UK has won an agreement to provide Inchcape Fleet Solutions with long term rental vehicles.

The contract represents over 20,000 rental days annually for the Avis Maxirent long term rental product and replaces Inchcape‚Äö?Ñ?¥s own in-house long term rental fleet.

Avis will run a dedicated fleet of around 300 long term rental cars across the UK to ensure Inchcape‚Äö?Ñ?¥s customers are kept mobile whatever their longer term rental needs between 30 and 90 days. This may include cars to service short term contracts, filling in a gap between a driver‚Äö?Ñ?¥s contract car going back to Inchcape and their new car being delivered and to cover three month employee probationary periods.

Another motive behind Inchcape‚Äö?Ñ?¥s fleet conversion from pool car to rental vehicle was in response to the recent Duty of Care regulations affecting staff. The new legislation, first set out in the Health & Safety Executive (HSE)‚Äö?Ñ?¥s Driving at Work guidelines, makes employers responsible for ensuring the health and safety of their employees at work generally and more specifically when travelling on business. With Avis concentrating on this area, Inchcape can rest assured that its drivers are provided with safe, clean, quality vehicles that have undergone a 59-point safety check before they are sent out on rental and are less than six months old.

Avis also takes care of the administration associated with running a rental fleet by placing an implant in Inchcape‚Äö?Ñ?¥s Portsmouth office. This full time member of Avis personnel manages Inchcape‚Äö?Ñ?¥s day-to-day long term rental requirements, while maintaining a visible presence within the office in case of queries or difficulties.

Andy Brown, Operations Director, Inchcape comments “We are delighted to bring a second national rental supplier into the Inchcape business. Avis was ready and willing to meet our demands and have proved it‚Äö?Ñ?¥s more than able as a long term rental supplier.”

Stuart Gent, Managing Director of Avis says “We put together a package tailored to Inchcape and its requirements and initial feedback is very positive. It is further evidence of our commitment to provide corporates with hassle-free rental solutions that also meet with budgetary requirements.”
