The latest insurance groups for the all new Hyundai i20 were published today and reflect the cars superior build quality and safety features.

The bulk of the i20 range will benefit from group 3E including the entry level 1.2 Classic & comfort petrol models as well as the 1.4 CRDi Comfort.

The remainder of the range will be group 4E.

The full insurance groupings are as follows:

  • i20 Classic 1.2 5 door 3E
  • i20 Comfort 1.2 5 door 3E
  • i20 Comfort 1.4 5 door 4E
  • i20 Comfort 1.4 5 door automatic 4E
  • i20 Comfort 1.4 CRDi 5 door 3E
  • i20 Style 1.4 5 door 4E
  • i20 Style 1.4 CRDi 5 door 4E

When it goes on sale in April 2009, the entry level 1.2-litre Classic will start at just £8,195 for the three-door with a January launch for the five door costing an extra £450. Despite the low price, all i20s are equipped with air-conditioning, six airbags, active head restraints, remote locking, electric front windows and an aux-in socket. In addition there is the reassurance of Hyundai’s Five Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty – unique in this class.
